2011 September 04 - Caernarfon 4th September 2011 race day.

The day began with everyone helping to unload the boats and get them on the beach before the start of the 10k road race which had over 200 runners taking part. After which came the procession of old sports cars. There were 9 boats taking part on a very warm still day. After the briefing all crews went to their boats and spectators took to the battlements of the club or found vantage points along the beach.. Read more...

2011 August 13 - The Dinas Head Challenge 2011 rowing race report and results.

Saturday 13th August was the date for annual 8 mile rowing race starting from Goodwick and finishing in Parrog Newport. The event hosted by Newport Boat Club has become a favourite with rowers from all over Wales. Read more...

2011 July 17 - The Castle to Caslte rowing race report and results.

The rain came and the wind picked up and swung more southerly so as the race progressed the conditions got a little choppy. The gradually stiffening breeze made the going tough for the rowers with wind against tide but they all did magnificently well ploughing through the chop. As the crews heard the cannons sound at the finish line there was much rejoicing and camaraderie as everyone cheered in the other crews. Read more...

2011 May 21 - Towy Boat Club has been able to expand its fleet thanks to support from Carmarthenshire County Council and the Sport Wales.

2011 March 16 - Watersports Centre at Strathclyde Park near Glasgow was broken into on Monday 7th March

The Watersports Centre at Strathclyde Park near Glasgow was broken into on Monday 7th March and almost the entire contents of the Scottish Rowing Trophy Cabinet was stolen. Some of these trophies date back to the 1870's and are irreplaceable. Read more...

If you belong to a club affiliated to the WSRA you are automatically a member of the club. All rowers are welcome on the forum as the more information, opinions, advice and banter we get from around the country the better!

2010 June 19 - Clwb Rhwyfo Porthmadog Rowing Club - Race day 2010

On Saturday 19 June Clwb Rhwyfo Porthmadog welcomed coastal rowing clubs from North and Mid Wales to its annual race day. Seven clubs from Aberystwyth to Caernarfon entered crews of four rowers in Celtic longboats, each with a cox who steers the boat. Click here to read more.

2010 June 13 - Clwb Rhwyfo Mochras Rowing Club - a year in the life of!

Mochras Rowing Club was established in 2007 and held its second regatta at Shell Island last Sunday 13th June. This was the first of this year's Welsh Sea Rowing Association Northern league fixtures and provided an exciting day of racing between numerous teams based from as far North as Ynys Mon and other coastal towns right down the coast all the way to South Wales. 2009 August 05 - The Dinas Head Challenge

Rowing against the clock, no less than 17 Boats turned out for the annual 8-mile rowing race from Goodwick to Parrog Newport. The event hosted by Newport Boat Club has become a favourite with rowers both local and as far away as North Wales and Tenby in the South. Click here to read more.

2009 May 20 - Record Rowers at Newport!

Record numbers of rowers turned out for the opening race of the WSRA League held at Newport last Sunday. With over 50 teams competing in four races on a challenging rough sea and against a brisk N.W. wind. Click here to read more.

2009 April 09 - Cleddau Race marks a buoyant start to 2009 for rowers!

On a sunny Saturday, 4th April, 34 teams from across Wales competed in the Cleddau Race organised by Neyland Rowing Club. The race began on the Cleddau at Picton Fields and finished at Neyland Yacht Club, a distance of just over 13 miles. Click here to read more.

2009 February 02 - Welsh Sea Rowers Stay On Positive Course!

At a well attended AGM in Aberystwyth, on 23rd January, the Welsh Sea Rowing Association committed itself to the continued expansion and development of the sport after a successful 2008.
